CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE

I am delighted to welcome you to SALCRA website.

As SALCRA continues to play crucial role in Sarawak development through large-scale agriculture, we are proud to reaffirm our commitment to enhance the online experience for those seeking information on SALCRA’s journey. This website shall be the platform for SALCRA to connect with the public and stakeholders transcending geographical barriers.

We are devoted to our agenda in transforming and improving rural community livelihood through Native Customary Rights (NCR) Land development. Presently, we are focusing on sustainable palm oil industry and related business including oil palm cultivation, palm oil milling, fertiliser manufacturing, agriculture related support services, seed garden and livestock. As part of our expansion programme, we are actively exploring the potential of venturing into palm oil upstream and downstream activities.

On top of this, the State Government has mandated SALCRA to take lead in producing quality and affordable oil palm-based animal feed in Sarawak. This initiative aims to assist the Government in mitigating the rising cost of animal feeds, and in reducing as well as stabilising the price of meat in Sarawak. With this new role, SALCRA's responsibility is not just confined to land development participants, but the people of Sarawak at large.

As Sarawak strives to become a developed State with the implementation of its Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030), SALCRA is committed to support Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development (M-FICORD) in achieving its objective of ensuring food security and safety, creating wealth for agro-based community and establishing Sarawak as a net food exporter by 2030.

With this opportunity, we would like to welcome new investors, business partners, learning institutions and agro-based communities to work together with us in invigorating rural development and transforming the rural community.

XX

Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom
