6 January 2024, Lundu: Our recent Annual Appreciation Dinner at Bajo Training Centre brought together more than 800 attendees, including employees, subsidiaries, and officers from the Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, Sarawak (M-FICORD), as well as agencies under M-FICORD, The main objective of the event was to recognise and appreciate the contributions of employees in 2023 and foster teamwork across SALCRA's operating areas.
One of the highlights of the evening was the book launch titled "SALCRA: The Empirical Details of Its Contribution To The Socio-Economic Development of Rural Sarawak". The book was launched by the Chairman of SALCRA, YB Dato Sri Dr. Stephen Rundi Anak Utom, who is also the Minister for M-FICORD. This book marks as a milestone for SALCRA as it is the first-ever comprehensive study written by academicians from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Dr. Nwanesi Peter Karubi and Puan Dayangku Norasyikin Pengiran Tejuddin, about the Authority.
Another notable moment was the recognition of 37 recipients who received the Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang for their outstanding contribution and performance in 2022. This demonstrates the Authority's appreciation and recognition of their high-performing employees.
Our estates and mills’ contributions to the Authority were also recognised with awards such as ‘Estate with the Highest Yield Increment’, ‘Estate with the Highest Returns’, ‘Palm Oil Mill with Best Oil Extraction Rate’ and ‘Palm Oil Mill with Best Utilisation Rate’.
The event was also attended by Tuan Joseph Blandoi, the General Manager of SALCRA; YBhg. Datu Ik Pahon, Chairman of Bau Palm Oil Mill Sdn. Bhd. (BAPOM); YBhg. Datu Dr. Adrian Susin Ambud, Director of the Department of Veterinary Services Sarawak (DVS); YB Dr. Simon Sinang, N. 21 Tebedu assemblyman; YB Tuan Billy Sujang, N.1 Opar assemblyman; YB Tuan Miro Simuh, N. 18 Serembu assemblyman; Encik Dominic Chunggat, Director of the Department of Agriculture Sarawak (DOA); and Encik Sikin Sentok, the Deputy General Manager of SALCRA.
