SALCRA’s 106^th Board Meeting was held on 14^th July 2022 at Wisma SALCRA and chaired by the new Chairman, Yang Berhormat Dato Sri Dr. Stephen Rundi Anak Utom, the Minister for Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development, Sarawak.

The Meeting was also attended by, amongst others, Yang Berbahagia Datuk Amar Michael Manyin Anak Jawong, Advisor in the Office of the Premier of Sarawak (Education), Yang Berhormat Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn, Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Yang Berhormat Datu Dr Penguang Manggil, Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government (Local Government) and Yang Berhormat Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment.

Nineteen (19) Agendas were tabled to the Board for deliberation and / or decisions. Mr. Joseph Blandoi, the General Manager of SALCRA reported on the progress achieved by the Authority for the period ended 30th April 2022 with the focus on the production and plantation development at the current and new areas.

The Board Members articulated at length on the future direction of SALCRA in particular to focus on SALCRA’s core business.

Kuching, 3rd July 2022 – Majlis Kebajikan dan Anggota- anggota Kerajaan Sarawak (MAKSAK) had organised MAKSAK Sarawak Golf Game 2022 in Damai Golf and Country Club participated by 21 teams from various Government agencies. SALCRA participated in VIP category and Team Event.
SALCRA General Manager, Joseph Blandoi claimed 3rd place under VIP category out of 20 participations. For the team event, SALCRA Team 1 represented by Peter Manjan Seman, Sibat Kallang, Dabrin Peter Kini and Robert Ensali recorded 280 total nett score to claim the tournament champion leaving Yayasan Sarawak in the 2nd place by 286 total nett score. Meanwhile, SALCRA Team 2 represented by Sikin Sentok, Grover Peter Gani, Will Paul Bilun and Johny Karin registered 312 total nett score to secure 10th placing on that day.
This tournament was officiated by Dato Sri Haji Mohamad Abu Bakar Bin Marzuki, Acting State Secretary of Sarawak. 106 players involved in this tournament from MAKSAK Sarawak affiliate club.

SALCRA under the Ministry of Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development, Sarawak was invited to participate in the two (2) exhibitions with the theme “Post Covid Development Strategy” and International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) 2022. The exhibitions were held from 17 to 19 June 2022 and 21 to 23 June 2022 respectively. Both exhibitions were held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

The events were officiated by the Right Honourable Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg.

Some of other agencies that participated in the exhibitions were Economic Planning Unit Sarawak, Sarawak Information System (SAINS), Sarawak Energy, Regional Corridor Development Authority, Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation, Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) and other Government Agencies.

Congratulations to all forty-two (42) bowlers who attended the SALCRA Bowling Tournament held at Megalanes Adventure World, King Centre, Kuching. The bowling tournament took place last Saturday on 26th March 2022. There were 14 teams where each team consisted of three (3) bowlers.
Before the tournament started, the emcee of the day, Mdm. Mariana welcomed all the bowlers and reminded all players to maintain the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) throughout the session. The KRES Chairman, Mr. Henry Daris gave his welcoming remarks to all the bowlers and excited of finally being able to organise the tournament this year in conjunction with the SALCRA Day 2022. He hoped that from this tournament, we may select the best bowlers to represent SALCRA in the up-coming MAKSAK bowling tournament in May, 2022.
It was a very successful tournament and all the participated bowlers had a great time.

Congratulations to all bowlers for their excellent games. Thank you also to the committee members who had helped out throughout the event. All winners were presented with prizes by the KRES Chairman, Mr. Henry Daris at the end of the tournament. There were also ten (10) lucky draws presented to ten lucky bowlers.
The bowling tournament helped to foster and promote goodwill, friendship and teamwork among the bowlers. We hope to see you again in the next tournament. Well done once again!
