9 June 2025, Wisma SALCRA: This morning, the teams gathered once again at SALCRA Headquarters for the June assembly—a valued opportunity to reflect on our collective progress and renew our commitment to excellence. The session began with the singing of the National and State Anthems, followed by SALCRA Maju performed by the Choir, a prayer, and monthly staff sharing, setting a positive and unified tone for the day.
In his remarks, our General Manager, Tuan Joseph Blandoi, extended heartfelt appreciation to all staff who contributed to the successful launch of SALCRA’s first Kernel Crushing Plant in Lubok Antu, officiated by the Premier of Sarawak, YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari, on 24 May 2025. This landmark achievement represents a significant advancement in SALCRA’s operational capabilities and establishes a strong foundation for future growth.
With Sarawak Agrofest 2025 gaining momentum and the main event approaching in Bintulu, Tuan Joseph urged all teams to fully leverage this strategic platform to showcase SALCRA’s strengths, highlight our diverse product offerings, and strengthen relationships with stakeholders. He also stressed the importance of sustained focus, collaborative teamwork, a commitment to continuous learning, and unwavering dedication to excellence as we move forward together.
A highlight of the session was the official handover of the internally published Contract Administration Procedures and Guidelines for Works. The 217-page guidebook—developed by a dedicated team led by Encik Jeffery Stephen Beti, Plantation Development Manager —was formally presented by General Manager Tuan Joseph to four key departments: Technical Services and Engineering, Mills Corporate Office, Plantation Production Unit, and Plantation Development Unit. This handover marks a significant step towards enhancing contract management and operational governance across SALCRA.
During the assembly, Encik Henry Jubik delivered an insightful presentation on "The Importance of Procedures and Guidelines in an Organisation and Department,” which was acknowledged by Tuan Joseph. Building on this, Tuan Joseph emphasised the need for a balanced approach—maintaining consistency while allowing enough flexibility in procedures to avoid both undue rigidity and excessive leniency—to uphold effective governance.
Procedures are not red tape - they are our safety net.
We appreciate your dedication to our shared vision of growth and excellence. Stay tuned for upcoming updates as we advance together.
[quix id='437' name='SALCRA CELEBRATES THE OPENING OF ITS FIRST KERNEL CRUSHING PLANT IN LUBOK ANTU']
24 May 2025, Sri Aman: SALCRA proudly celebrated a major milestone with the official commissioning of its first Kernel Crushing Plant (KCP), strategically located next to the Lubok Antu Palm Oil Mill 2 (LAPOM 2).
The opening ceremony was officiated by the Premier of Sarawak, the Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg.
This development marks a significant step forward in supporting the Sarawak Government’s goal of enhancing self-sufficiency in livestock feed production by making full use of oil palm by-products. In doing so, it contributes to reducing long-term reliance on imported feed.
The KCP is designed to process palm kernels into three key products: Crude Palm Kernel Oil (CPKO), used in various industrial applications; Palm Kernel Expeller (PKE), an important component in livestock feed; and Palm Kernel Shells (PKS), which serve as a renewable source of biomass fuel. This initiative not only promotes waste reduction, particularly of oil palm residues, but also creates value-added products for both local and regional markets.
The commissioning event was attended by a distinguished group of guests, including the Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Sarawak and Chairman of SALCRA, YB Dato Sri Dr. Stephen Rundi Utom; Deputy Minister YB Datuk Martin Ben; YB Datuk Malcolm Mussen; YB Datuk Francis Harden; Sri Aman Resident Officer Tuan Mahra Salleh; Permanent Secretary for M-FICORD YBhg. Datu Sirai Daha; SALCRA’s General Manager Tuan Joseph Blandoi; Deputy General Manager Encik Sikin Sentok; Members of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly; representatives from various government agencies; local councillors; community leaders; contractors and consultants; SALCRA’s Management Team; and land development participants.
SALCRA extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Organising Committee, led by Puan Maureen Tamin as Organising Chairperson and Encik Will Paul Bilun as Co-Organising Chairman, along with all contributors including the ground teams and choir, for their dedication and professionalism in ensuring the success of this important occasion.
