14 Disember 2023, Kota Samarahan: Seramai 60 kakitangan telah menerima Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia SALCRA yang disampaikan oleh Pengurus Sumber Manusia SALCRA, Encik Alexander Wong di Wisma SALCRA pada hari ini.

Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia ini merupakan satu tanda penghargaan kepada kakitangan yang telah berkhidmat melebihi 15 tahun dan ke atas. Seramai 26 kakitangan dianugerahkan Pingat Delima (30 tahun dan ke atas), empat (4) kakitangan dianugerahkan Pingat Emas (25-29 tahun) dan tujuh (7) kakitangan dianugerahkan Pingat Perak (20-24 tahun) diikuti 25 kakitangan yang dianugerahkan Pingat Gangsa (15-19 tahun).

Syabas dan setinggi-tinggi TAHNIAH diucapkan kepada semua penerima!

8 December 2023, Kota Samarahan: Safety and Health Committee conducted a fire drill training this morning at Wisma SALCRA to prepare employees for emergencies. The Committee also invited an officer from Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Kota Samarahan to brief the employees on the importance of fire drill training and its precautions.

It is important for public buildings to conduct such simulations so that employees are aware of how to stay safe in the event of an actual fire.

Stay safe and remember, being prepared today ensures a safer tomorrow.

28 November 2023, Kuching: SALCRA participated as an exhibitor in the Global Muslim Business Forum 2023 (GMBF) at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK). The Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Sarawak and sister agencies also took part in the event from 28 to 30 November 2023.

The forum served as a platform for governments, corporations, and civil society to exchange knowledge and explore best practices in various domains, including Islamic finance, green technology, and agriculture.

The opening ceremony of the forum was officiated by Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato' Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, during the Gala Night on 24 November 2023. Other attendees included Premier of Sarawak, YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Vice-President of Indonesia Dr Ma'ruf Amin and Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah bin Ali Hasan, who is also the Minister for International Trade and Investment Sarawak and GMBF 2023 Chairman.

Furthermore, Chief Operating Officer of SALCRA Jaya Sdn. Bhd., Tuan Grover Peter Gani, and Acting General Administration and Quality Manager, Puan Jee Siaw Kee, were present during the Opening Ceremony.

24 November 2023, Kuching: SALCRA participated as one of the exhibitors in the 9th Livestock, Agriculture and Aquaculture (LAA) Sarawak Expo 2023. The expo took place from 24 to 26 November at Dewan Masyarakat MBKS.

The opening ceremony was officiated by the esteemed YB Dato Dr Stephen Rundi, Minister for Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development Sarawak, on 24 November 2023. With great enthusiasm and passion for the local community, he dedicated a substantial amount of time engaging in a walkabout, visiting and exploring booths of our local entrepreneurs. Furthermore, he graciously lent an attentive ear to the invaluable insights and experiences shared by the hardworking small farmers and passionate owners of agriculture businesses, truly embracing the spirit of collaboration and support for the growth and development of our local economy.

The expo provided a platform for SALCRA to showcase our cattle integration in oil palm estates and livestock commercialisation.

Also present at the opening ceremony were Tuan Joseph Blandoi, the General Manager, and Datu Dr. Adrian Susin Ambud, the Director of the Department of Veterinary Services Sarawak.

23 November 2023, Serian: Minister for Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development Sarawak, who is also the Chairman of SALCRA, YB Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, conducted a working visit to various operation areas of SALCRA from 19 to 23 November. The areas visited included Saratok Palm Oil Mill Sdn. Bhd., Lubuk Antu Palm Oil Mill 2, Bara Nursery, Serian Palm Oil Mill Sdn. Bhd., and Mayang Breeding and Fattening Farm.

The main objective of the visit was to observe and assess the ongoing production and progress of several important projects. The entourage had the privilege of being briefed and guided on the tour by the General Manager, Tuan Joseph Blandoi. We had the opportunity to witness firsthand the various stages of the projects and gain a deeper understanding of the intricacies involved in animal feed production.

Also present during the working visit were Deputy Minister for M-FICORD YB Datuk Martin Ben, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Investment of Sarawak Datuk Dr. Malcolm Mussen, Permanent Secretary of M-FICORD, Tuan Sirai Daha and Director of Department of Veterinary Services Sarawak Datu Dr. Adrian Susin Ambud.

15 November 2023, Kuching: SALCRA participated in the Borneo Environment Conference (BEnConf), held from 15 to 16 November at the Imperial Hotel. The conference was a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability (MEESty), Institut Kimia Malaysia (Sarawak Branch), Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) and Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB).

Themed “Knowing and Managing Climate Change”, the conference aimed to raise awareness about the causes and effects of climate change, with a specific focus on the livelihoods of the people of Sarawak. The objectives were to share adaptation measures to minimise the impact of climate change, and to highlight community initiatives in addressing the challenges posed by climate change.

Also attended the conference were SALCRA’s Sustainability Executives, Mr. Valerian Sibat, Ms. Abigail Lydia, Ms. Kimberly Ashley Jenta & Mdm. Georgee Jeffery.

9 November 2023, Kuala Lumpur: SALCRA attended the three-day program, the International Palm Oil Congress and Exhibition (PIPOC) 2023, hosted by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

With this year's theme, "Navigating Uncertainties, Building Resilience," SALCRA seized the opportunity to engage with other industry players in discussions on strategic R&D and technological findings that will improve the oil palm and palm oil industry.

Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development Sarawak, YB Datuk Martin Ben, also attended the Congress with General Manager, Tuan Joseph Blandoi. Their presence showcased the State and organisation's commitment to building resilience in navigating the unpredictable landscape of the oil palm and palm oil industry.

7 November 2023, Kota Samarahan: SALCRA had a compliance visit from NIOSH Certification Sdn. Bhd. The visit was conducted in accordance to MS ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems to ensure continual improvement of occupational health and safety (OH&S) performance, fulfilment of legal requirements and other requirements, and achievement of OH&S objectives.

The Safety and Health Committee is headed by Puan Mahani Maji, Head of Safety and Health Unit.

This visit marks the second stage of audit by external party and demonstrates the organisation's commitment in maintaining a safe workplace for employees.

2 November 2023, Kuching: We had our first-ever Brown Bag session featuring our General Manager, Tuan Joseph Blandoi, imparting his wisdom and knowledge to the young officers of SALCRA and discussing what it takes to effectively lead change.

The session aimed to foster internal communication within the organisation and provided opportunities for the officers to interact with our high-level leadership on topics related to personal and career development.

Tuan Joseph Blandoi made a very impactful sharing and touched their hearts when he shared his own experience that many of us can relate to.

31 Oktober 2023, Serian: Seramai 30 orang pelajar dan dua (2) orang pegawai pengiring dari Institut Pertanian Sarawak membuat satu lawatan ke Ladang Kelapa Sawit SALCRA di Estet Kedup 2. 

Sepanjang lawatan tersebut, para pelajar mempelajari tentang sistem perladangan di estet, pengurusan keselamatan pekerja di ladang, amalan pertanian yang baik berdasarkan GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) di peringkat estet, pensijilan Minyak Sawit Mampan Malaysia (MSPO) pada peringkat ladang, serta pengurusan dan penyeliaan pekerja.

Turut serta dalam lawatan ini ialah Ketua Agronomi, Kelestarian dan Penyelidikan, Puan Jacinta Graley.
