3^rd October 2022, Kuching – SALCRA had its 1^st Series In-House Bowling Competition on 1^st October 2022 at Megalanes, King Centre, Kuching. The competition was opened to all SALCRA Headquarters staff.

The tournament was held to encourage teamwork among the staff. While bowling may seem like a single person, competitive activity, it was also a great way to create trust and get people to work together. The competition is a great way to relax and have fun that all the staff is able to participate in regardless of skill level. It created a positive environment that encourage the bowlers to build interpersonal relationships.

A total of 38 players took part in the tournament. Attractive prizes were given to the top 15 winners, comprising trophies, bowling items and free game vouchers.

The best male and female bowlers went to Will Paul and Dzesmilvia Dierdre respectively. Congratulations to all the players! Till we meet again in 2^nd Series 2023.

3^rd November 2022, Kota Samarahan – A successful blood donation drive was held on 3^rd November 2022 at Wisma SALCRA. It was organised by the Safety and Health Unit, Kelab Rekreasi SALCRA (KRES) HQ together with Jabatan Perkhidmatan Transfusi & Bank Darah Hospital Umum Sarawak (HUS).

The blood donation drive which took place half a day, saw donors from SALCRA and other nearby Agencies and Institutions came forward to do their part for society.

Franky Anak Lingger and Awang Azhar Bin Awang Muhamad, both from Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat, Kota Samarahan knew about this programme from SALCRA’s invitation letter. “This is my first time to donate blood in SALCRA, and I am so excited,” said Franky. Mohammad Esa bin Ederis from Lembaga Koko Malaysia also came to donate blood and support the event. There were also donors from UiTM Sarawak namely Halim Bin Drahman, Samsol Bin Musa, Awang Damit Bin Awang Kan and Mohammad Azhar Bin Abu Bakar. According to Halim, he is very happy to be able to help the people. Samsul also feel glad to have the opportunity to donate blood in SALCRA.

There were 70 donors registered for the blood donation. However, only 59 were successful. Those successful donors received some door gifts inclusive of 2kg cooking oil, 5kg rice, a packet of 300g oat, a box of Lipton tea with 25 sachets and a packet of cracker.

Kuching, 5^th October 2022- Minister of Food Industry, Commodities & Regional Development of Sarawak (M-FICORD), Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom officiated Integrity Day 2022 celebration at the level of the Ministry of Food Industry, Commodities & Regional Development of Sarawak (M-FICORD) in UCSI Hotel.

The ceremony started with Welcoming speech from Datu Edwin Abit, M-FICORD Permanent Secretary followed by M-FICORD Minister Speech.

Datu Edwin Abit then lead Integrity pledge before all the Head of Department under Ministry of Food Industry, Commodities & Regional Development of Sarawak Signing Anti-Corruption pledge ceremony.

Among the present during the ceremony both Deputy Minister for Ministry of Food Industry, Commodities & Regional Development of Sarawak YB Datuk Dr Haji Abdul Rahman Bin Haji Ismail and YB Martin Ben; SALCRA General Manager, Mr. Joseph Blandoi; Director of Agriculture Department, Mr. Dominic Chunggat; Director of Sarawak Veterinary Department, Dr Adrian Susin Ambud; General Manager of Sarawak Land Development Board, Mr. Siang Mundaw; General Manager of State Farmers' Organisation Sarawak, Mr. Gom Raway and all officers under M-FICORD.

Serian, 17 September 2022 – Deputy Minister of Modernisation and Regional Regional Development, Mr. Martin Ben visit SALCRA Mayang Breeding and Fattening Farm here in Serian. He was accompanied by 30 locals from Serian during this visit.

During the visit, Mr. Martin Ben was brought to tour around the breeding and fattening farm before headed to the office for briefing on the cattle project by Mr. Raymund Brittin, Head of Business Development Unit, SALCRA.

Also present during the event were Joseph Blandoi, SALCRA General Manager, Dr Adrian Susil, Director of Department of Veterinary Sarawak, Temenggong Henry Bujang and SALCRA Staff.

22^nd September 2022, Sri Aman – SALCRA was invited to participate in the Tidal Bore (Pesta Benak) Exhibition from 9^th to 11^th September 2022 at Sri Aman Waterfront. The Event organised at Batang Lupar river has various activities where visitors and tourists can participate and experience themselves the tidal bore waves.

Some of the agencies participated in the exhibition were Sarawak Tourism Board, State Planning Unit Sarawak, Land and Survey Department Sarawak, Department of Agriculture, Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA), Sarawak Forestry Corporation and Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak.

Apart from the tidal bore itself, another main attraction of the festival was the regatta boat racing. Other attractions for the festival were Miss Tourism Benak, Ratu Kebaya Benak, cultural performances, concerts with local famous artists, water surfing show, Benak Road Trail Run, Benak Big Bike Gathering, cycling, corporate exhibitions, photography competition and fireworks display.

The Premier of Sarawak, Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg officiated the Sri Aman Pesta Benak on 10^th September 2022 (Saturday), while the closing ceremony was officiated by Tuan Yang Terutama Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud on 11^th September 2022 (Sunday).
